Dutch interviews, Group 1.

Oona and Susanna

How old are you? – I’m 14 years old.

Do you like Finland? – Yes

What is the name of your hometown? – groot-ammers

Have you got new friends in exchange? – Yes I have got

Do you like Finnish food? – Yes but some foods are not that good.

Last Evening

Last evening we went to the shopping center Ideapark.

We went to the shopping center with other people.

After this we went home and we took a shower.

After we had taken a shower we were on our mobile phones.

We went sleeping at 10 pm.

The week’s program

Monday: we went to Ideapark.

Tuesday: we have had lessons on school and have seen a movie. In the evening we had a evening program.

Wednesday: we went to Tampere and to the Nokia Eden spa.

Thursday: We had our regular lessons with our hosts. We had also skate at the ice stadium. In the evening we had a party at school.

Friday: We travelled to Helsinki and after that we had to go to the airport of Helsinki.

Cultural differences

In Netherlands a school was different. There was more colours on walls and if you have to wait before lessons start, you can wait inside. There is no sauna and there’s not so much trees. Everywhere was flat and there were a lot of farms. In Finland is more snow and cold in winter. Spring in Netherlands is more hot. School trips in Netherlands are really long, but they are still going by bike. Bread in Finland is more dark and in Netherlands they have chockolate sprinkles on bread. Cheese in Netherlands is older than in Finland. In Netherlands is lot of animals and they are always outside even if it’s winter. In Finland it’s more quiet. In Netherlands building are more close to each other and in Finland there’s more space between buildings. Winter is during longer in Finland.

Cultural differences.

The dinner is different than in the Netherlands. The food is different. In Finland they eat more fish than in the Netherlands.

We eat at five o’clock in Finland. In the Netherlands at 7 o’clock.

Do you like Finland?  – I like but it’s really cold in here.

What is the name of your hometown? – Schoonhoven.

Have you got new friends in exchange? – Yes.

Have you had fun time here? – Yeah, I like that.

 

Roosa and Rick

On monday 13.4. our dutch guests came here in Lempäälä. After little snack we went home to have a dinner. We had elk stew with mashed potatoes and salad. My guest Rick said that the food was great. In the evening we went at Janika´s and Yarnick´s and we wathced a movie called What happend in Vegas. During the movie we ate chips and we drank Coca Cola. We also chatted with other exhange people. After movie we started a horror movie: The Shinning. About 9.20 o´clock went left there. We went home to sleep. We hope that we are having a great time this week!

EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

Week’s program in Holland, the second day we were at school, on the third day we were in the Hague and we swam. On the 4th day we were at the Efteling and in the evening we had dinner together with the whole group, and on Friday we left.

Week’s program in Finland, second day in school and on the third day we are going to Tampere and swimming. On Thursday we are in school, we are going to iceskate and in the evening we have dinner together with the whole group. On Friday we are going to Helsinki.

Last evening we went to a shoppingmall Ideapark.

The differences- In Finland there is different houses and nature, than in Holland. In Holland you call the teachers ”Miss” ”Mrs” or ”Mister” and in Finland you call them by their first name.

What do you think about this weeks schedule?: I think it’s going to be fun.

What do you think of the cultural differences?: The roads are really different. In The Netherlands there is more safety in traffic.

How is our school different from your school?: In the breaks you need to go outside and class numbers. We take food from home.

What words do you know in Finnish?: Moi, hei hei, pää.

What words would you like to learn?: Traffic rules = liikennesäännöt

What do you think of the cultural differencies?: In Finland everybody has a sauna, many trees, and no colour outside

How is your school different than our school?: Their school is bigger, in Finland there is school food

What words do you know in Finnish?: ’huomenta’ ’sormet’ ’peppu’

What words would you like to learn?: ’koulu’
